Cocopah Emergency Manager Mike Fila assembled 17 "stop the bleed" kits for Cocopah police officers. In this video Fila and Cocopah Tribal Police Chief Joe Jenkins talk about how these kits, coupled with realistic training, will help officers save lives. The kits were paid for by a grant from the Centers for Disease Control. "Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign and call-to-action. Stop the Bleed is intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped, and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.” according to the Department of Homeland Security website.
