Cocopah Head Start students on Wednesday morning participated in a tree planting event on the West Reservation. Students planted 10 willow trees which were grown on the North Reservation. In addition to teaching children about horticulture, students learned how to avoid dangers such as pesticide. The tree planting event was also intended to recognize Earth Day, which is officially celebrated on April 22. The Cocopah Environmental Protection Office hosted the event.
