Summary

Description of basic functions and responsibilities to transport students to and from school and other sites within designated route(s) and to ensure the safety of the student passengers while in a school vehicle. Responsible for the safe operation of a school bus and for ensuring the safety of student passengers while meeting established bus schedules. During non-driving time maintain office building and campus grounds to ensure a clean healthy environment for both students and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Drives a school transportation vehicle within a prescribe route(s) in accordance with time schedules; picking up and discharging students at designated stops
• Transports students and teacher on field trips to various locations; planning necessary route(s) and stops as needed
• Maintains order an proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy
• Conduct safety and operational inspection of assigned vehicle daily
• Reports needed mechanical repairs when necessary Services buses with gas, diesel fuel, and oil; checks and when necessary fills tires and batteries
• Performs periodical safety drills as required by law; completing necessary reports upon request
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle to ensure safe operating condition
• Completes periodic mileage and other reports including passenger counts
• Attends various meetings regarding safety, first aid and training updates as required
• Attends driver training programs to maintain current knowledge of Arizona Motor Vehicle Code and the Education Code as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children Operates a two-way radio
• Sweep and mops floors.
• Vacuums carpets.
• Cleans restrooms and restocks paper and soap supplies.
• Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.
• Empties trash receptacles and bags trash for proper disposal.
• May change light bulbs and ac filters as directed.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Gather and remove litter.
• Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes.
• Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans.
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws.
• Provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features.
• Maintain or repair tools, equipment, or structures, such as buildings, greenhouses, fences, or benches, using hand or power tools.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and write at a level necessary to successfully perform the required duties
• Ability to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions in an independent manner
• Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationship with those contacted in the performance of job duties

• Ability to drive a school bus safely and efficiently
• Ability to exercise good judgment and extreme caution while driving
• Ability to maintain valid certification as school bus driver according to state regulations
• Ability to meet the physical requirements necessary to safely and effectively perform required duties

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred
• 2-year work experience in related field
• Valid Arizona CDL license required with a bus endorsement
• One year experience driving a School Bus or similar vehicle
• First/Aide/CPR certification must be obtained

Summary

Under the direction of the Bar Lead.  The beverage server takes beverage order from guest and transmits to bar over wireless point of sale system, delivers drinks to guests on the gaming floor.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Records order and time received on ticket to ensure prompt service.
• Answers questions regarding facilities and/or services.
• Delivers beverages in a timely manner to the patrons, keeping the speed and quality of the service foremost a priority.
• Collects vouchers and cash for service and keeps record of transactions.
• Communicates to bartender what drinks are needed and pays bartender.
• Receives and returns bank from the vault.
• Maintains a clean cocktail station and performs daily cleaning tasks.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to calculate simple math.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. safely
• Exceptional customer service skills 
• Must be available to work all shifts including weekends & holidays 

Qualifications

Summary

Under the direction of the Museum Director/Cultural Programs Coordinator.  The Maintenance/groundskeeper worker performs semi-skilled general maintenance, care and modification of the Museum, Cultural Center and Heritage Park Complex and landscapes which includes the operation of electrically-powered and gasoline-powered grounds keeping equipment and machines, changes lights bulbs, paints walls, woodwork, makes minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs, delivers supplies, materials and equipment needed and provides custodial services, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Primary responsibility of general cleaning, maintenance and security of all areas of the Tribal Museum, Cultural Center and Heritage Park.
• Responsible for maintaining and making minor repairs on machines, equipment and tools.
• Performs minor maintenance services, i.e., electrical plumbing, painting, air conditioning systems, and carpentry where not covered by warranty.
• Provides general janitorial services to the facilities.
• Performs building maintenance by replacing window/light fixtures, A/C filters, repair woodwork, replacing floor tiles and replacing washers in faucets.
• Perform landscape on immediate surrounding grounds area, i.e., cutting grass, trimming trees and watering grass.
• Participates in the annual Cocopah Cultural Celebration Day plans & implementation.
• Attends staff meetings, training, and workshops.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work well with others, including diverse personalities of museum visitors.
• Practice good organizational and time management skills.
• Flexible in work hours to cover evenings & weekends.
• Fluency in English. Cocopah & Spanish language a plus.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Must be computer literate.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in the operation, care and safety practices of standard maintenance equipment, i.e., floor polishers, power tools, mowers/tractors, & hand tools.
• Maintenance uniform required. Presentation of professional appearance and demeanor a must.
• Must be at least 21 years of age, required for GSA vehicle operation.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must possess a current valid Arizona Driver's License.
• Must be able to successfully pass DPS/FBI fingerprint background check.

Summary

Under the direction of the Patrol Sergeant, the Officer will be responsible for the safety, security and the preservation of life and property by maintaining law and order within the boundaries of the Cocopah Nation Reservation. Assist with maintaining continual law enforcement and prevention services twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. The Officer will have the responsibility of enforcing Federal, State or Tribal laws and ordinances as necessary. Work is subject to rotating shift assignments, odd hours of work and on-call status.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Qualifications

Successfully pass an oral board, background investigation, to include a polygraph, psychological, fingerprint check and medical exams. Must be at least 21 years of age, Must possess a valid State driver's license, internal applicants must not be on probationary status. Must never have been convicted of a felony or have been convicted of a misdemeanor within a period of three (3) years preceding application or never been convicted of an act of domestic violence involving a weapon or serious injury. No DUI’s or major traffic offenses within the past five (5) years and required to pass a physical examination. Must be willing to sign a confidentiality statement upon hire

Candidate must have either an Arizona P.O.S.T. Certification or BIA L.E. Certification

Must meet Bureau of Indian Affairs Law Enforcement Standards and obtain S.L.E.C

Current First Aid and CPR certification may be obtained after hire

Must have basic computer knowledge preferably with Windows and Word Applications

Experience in law enforcement practices or procedures preferred

Education and/or Experience

Associates’ degree in related field, 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement leading to bachelor’s degree

1-year equivalent to at least TS-6, 1-year work specialized work experience or, 3-year work experience in related field or 3-years supervisory work experience

Must meet requirements set forth by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Council

 

Related College or Technical School training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Summary

To maintain the automatic pinsetters and other operating equipment at the Center at the highest level of efficiency, as well as maintain the facility. Not eligible for tips.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Arrange and follow preventive maintenance schedule.
• Check logs, stop sheets and make necessary repairs.
• Supervise janitors.
• Schedule and perform pin repair and maintenance as needed.
• Repair and maintain all other operating equipment.
• Train and evaluate work of Assistant Mechanics and Pinchaser.
• Monitor and take charge of daily center maintenance, seats, tables etc.
• Clean, repair and adjust telefouls.
• Repair and maintain automatic scoring equipment.
• Keep records of parts and machine performances.
• Maintain and replenish part inventories.
• Perform lane repairs.
• Monitor daily cleaning and conditioning of lanes as per General Manager.
• Maintain Building repair and maintenance as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Thorough knowledge of operation of pinsetters, automatic scoring devices, and bowling lane conditioning and maintenance.
• Thorough knowledge of hand tools and small power tools.
• Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and electricity.
• Working knowledge of heating and air-conditioning units.
• Must be able to take and maintain an inventory of parts.
• Must have supervisory skills.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
• Must be able to schedule employees to cover all shifts.
• Must have good judgment in determining the solution to maintenance problems.

Qualifications

• Arizona Drivers License preferred
• Open availability is required.

• Associates degree in related field or trade school, professional or technical certification, specialized training

Summary

Under the general supervision of the finance Director, the Grants and Contract Coordinator/ Project Manager is responsible for the overall revenue, expenditures, and financial well-being of all tribal grants and contracts for completing and processing     reports to various financial granting agencies, reconciling grants and contracts ledger accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor financial status of all grant awards.
• Monitors budget expenditures for grant compliance and contract compliance; reporting requirements, forms, and due dates.
• Prepare and submit financial monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual reports for the funding agencies.
• Prepare/submit requests for grant reimbursements.
• Prepare required quarterly and annual progress financial reports and budget adjustments on grant awards for Program Directors, Council, or Administration.
• Maintain accurate and complete grant files, and contract files, perform grant related special projects and audits.
• Track contracts and spending trends.
• Oversees the contract process ensuring that contracts are prepared accurately, timely and in accordance with budget parameters.
• Work with accounting staff as needed, to ensure that government contracts’ invoices are submitted properly.
• Assist the Finance Director in preparing comprehensive financial reports for various uses, including preparation of Tribal financial statements.
• Assist Program Directors with grant applications and proposals as needed
• Prepare and submit grant, contract applications or proposals in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures through appropriate web-based and hardcopy processes.
• Revise and /or edit reports prepared by Program Directors, submit reports to funding agencies as needed (CC Administration & agencies as needed).
• Assist auditors as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Current generally accepted accounting principles for governmental units.
• Ability to develop and maintain a multi-fund total accounting system of records, reporting, audit trails and reconciliation.
• Use, analysis and implementation of automated accounting systems and personal computers.
• Laws and regulations relating to Tribal financial administration; budget preparation and control.
• Maintain effective working relationships among employees, Tribal members, and the public.
• Able to effectively communicate and maintain working relationship with co-workers, department heads and management.

• Three (3) years of financial reporting and understanding of federal accounting and administrative.
• Minimum of three (3) years management experience is a plus.

Under the direction of the tribal Council, the Chief of Police is responsible for planning, overseeing, and directing the activities, operations, and personnel of the department. • Maintains law and order in the community, including prevention, detection, and investigation of crimes.

• Assists Parks & Recreation Director in planning, organizing, developing, scheduling and evaluating recreation and athletic programs, after school programs, etc. Sports Leagues, Health & Fitness, Arts & Crafts - The department provides a wide variety of arts and cultural experiences throughout the community. Summary

• The operation and maintenance of a solid waste collection and public works motorized vehicle and equipment i.e. Sanitation truck, water truck, dump truck, and backhoe, typically of a public works department.

• Under the direction of the public works director, the supervisor's main responsibility is to provide a safe working condition and environment for the public works staff and community;

• Prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the tribe, including but not limited to cases involving misdemeanors, felonies, and juvenile offenses.
• Represent the tribe in civil matters, including contract disputes, tribal ordinances violations, and land-related issues.
• Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with law enforcement agencies to build strong cases.
• Review police reports, evidence, and witness statements to determine the strength of cases and legal strategies.
• Appear in tribal court and present cases effectively, including preparing and delivering opening statements, examining witnesses, and making closing arguments.
• Ensure that all legal proceedings adhere to tribal laws, regulations, and procedures.

Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Court Service Coordinator, assists in the administrative functioning of the Court including but not limited to, logging and preparation of new cases and files, answering the telephone, greets and answers questions from the public, court room recordings and minute taking during hearing, types notices for hearings and maintains the Judges notebook.

• Prepare case folders for new cases and maintains all new information - reports in existing cases.
• Makes copies of documents from files for distribution to appropriate parties in each case.

• Taking payments for fines and fees owed to the court.
• Greets visitors and announces the same to appropriate personnel.

Summary

This position is located in the IS Department under the direction of the Network Specialist Supervisor.  The incumbent directly monitors all day to day computer and data systems for the Casino.  The IS Technician is accountable for cooperating with other departments, implementing policies and procedures and assuring compliance with the Minimum Internal Control Standards as they affect all data related to computers.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Makes recommendation to Director for upgrades, purchase of new computer equipment, oversees installation and training of same.        
• Maintain professional knowledge by attending relevant workshops and seminars. as directed by the Information System Director.
• This position may require working weekends, holidays, graveyard shifts and must carry cell phone.
• Controls and enters all input to computers as directed my information systems management.
• Controls and distributes output from computers for all departments of the Casino.
• Performs back-up and recovery procedures when necessary.
• Ensures all steps are followed for installation of new equipment.
• Locates and repairs equipment malfunctions as required.
• Must understand and comply with the System of Minimum Internal Control Standards.
• Assures compliance with policies and procedures in a consistent manner.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Summary

The animal Control Officer, under the direction of the Patrol-Lieutenant, enforces the Cocopah Tribe’s Cocopah Law and Order Code governing animals; protects and rescues domesticated animals, captures and impounds dead, sick, injured, and abused animals, and maintains public health standards.  Maintains records and reports; transports to Human Society, disposes of animals as needed.  When not responding to animal control issues, maintains station and premises and performs other related duties as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receives calls from dispatch and drives assigned vehicle to location.
• Investigates alleged animal abuse, and violations of the Cocopah Law and Order Code related to animals or reports of injured, stray, sick, or dangerous animals; interviews individuals having contact with the animal, such as the owners.
• Takes possession of animals that show signs of neglect, inhumane treatment, disease, or malnutrition.
• Transports animals to agency, shelter, or veterinarian, as appropriate, while attempts to locate owners are made and when the animal needs to be impounded or investigated for diseases such as rabies.
• Patrol assigned areas in animal control vehicles, seeking animals that are stray, sick, injured, or deceased; provide minor medical treatment when needed.
• Completes records, forms and prepares reports concerning daily activities, fees collected, citations given by Police Officers, investigations made, and controlled drugs used.
• Provides information on and answers inquiries concerning licensing, vaccinations, euthanasia, adoptions, spraying and neutering, and other related matters.
• Uses department-issued weapons as needed to capture and euthanize animals according to established protocol.
• Prepares and maintains an animal control vehicle; utilizes a variety of animal control devices and equipment including leash, muzzle, traps, catch pole, net, radio, and tranquilizing equipment.
• Testifies as an expert witness in legal proceedings.
• Speaks to community groups about the proper care and feeding of pets and the value of pet population control.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• National Animal Control Association (NACA) certificate preferred. or obtains within the first 120-day training period.

Physical Requirements:

Summary

This Position will operate under the terms of the Final MOU between the Cocopah Indian Tribe and the Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E).  This termed position was created under an agreement between the Tribe and PG&E.  This position will be under the direct supervision of the Cultural Resource Manager.  The position will report to the Director of the Cultural Resource Department and as requested by the Cocopah Tribal Council and he/she will have no authority over PG&E operations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promote and preserve all aspects of the Cocopah Culture.
• Provide the Tribal community with project updates and issues related to the Chromium VI clean-up.
• Effectively communicate as required with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) officials, Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) officials, technical consultants, attorneys, Tribal Coalition, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and all of public and government officials.
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships, including, but not limited to the following: archaeologist, federal and state agencies, legislative officials, community officials and the public.
• Plan and coordinate the logistics for all meetings, conferences and seminars between the Tribe and other parties: including making travel arrangements, preparing agenda, taking detailed/accurate minutes and providing comprehensive reports, meeting notes and action item listings and deadlines.
• Review extensive and comprehensive work plans, reports; environmental and cultural as well as legal documentation.
• Work in coordination with Tribal technical consultant and other project team members to provide the necessary oral and written responses on behalf of the Tribe.
• Attend and document all Consultative & Tribal Work Group meetings.
• Provide administrative support including time reporting and accountability, follow-up on correspondence, process invoices and maintain official written project documentation and records.
• Create project activity reports which identify items accomplished, upcoming requirements and timelines.
• Participate in project field activities, which coincide with proposed work plans.
• Provide thorough assessment and make recommendations of field work activities as it relates to the preservation of culturally sensitive areas.
• Document projects status, key decisions, key issues, and resolution, priority changes and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Research, compose and edit various types of documents for discussion and review.
• Order supplies and maintain an inventory of required supplies for this project.

Summary

Under the direction of the Tribal Administrator, the incumbent develops a cultural resource management and preservation outline of the Cocopah history and culture.  The Cultural Resource Manager (with approval from the Tribal Council and Tribal Elders) mediates with local officials regarding the protection and Tribal access to the aboriginal lands and natural cultural resources of the Cocopah Tribe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing a comprehensive program which outlines the Cocopah history and culture, which includes working with the tribal community to develop programs for cultural sustainability.
• Performs research and identifies: Traditional Cultural Places; Sacred Sites; Rock Art; Sleeping Circles; Camp Sites; Cultural elements of the built environment; landscapes that figure into the local community traditions; historical items; etc.
• Attends and/or facilitates meetings with local, state, and federal officials to support the enforcement of federal regulations regarding the stewardship and preservation of natural and cultural resources.
• Oversees the compilation of data and establishment of a data base.
• Attends meetings with Tribal Elders.
• Mediates between local government officials and Cocopah Tribal government.
• Travels to sites of cultural and historic significance to observe and research.
• Prepares and delivers oral and written reports to the Tribal Council, Tribal Elders, and Tribal Administrator on relevant project developments.
• Locates, maps, and photographs cultural and natural resources.
• Protects and preserves cultural resources in the field.
• Measure and survey landscape.

Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Education Coordinator, the tutor is responsible for tutoring/advising and scheduling middle school students during the normal school year, as well as performing classroom aide duties during the JOM summer program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise students in tutorial programs, study hall, and learning centers.
• Must be able to identify the early signs of a learning disability in students. The Tutor must work with the school and parents to facilitate the process of testing for disabilities.
• Monitor and assist students and provide support, guidance, and direction for academic retention. Students will be referred to the tutoring program by school officials, parents and by the Advisor.
• Assist students with proper study techniques. Must be computer literate and understand the curriculum/information from school-based programs.
• Must be able to work within the public schools of the area. Follow the security requirements and maintain a positive working collaboration between the Tribe and the school.
• Assist the JOM staff with planning of the summer curriculum. Supervise and monitor students in the classroom and on special trips.  Assist with classroom projects, daily activities and coordination of special events.
• Assist the Education Advisors with grade point average calculations, credit evaluations, student progress reports, collecting student data.

• Must have reliable transportation. Tutors are expected to use their personal cars and are eligible to claim mileage reimbursement from the Education Department.

Summary

Under the general supervision and direction of the Tribal Administrator/Assistant Tribal Administrator. Serves as the Health Director for the Tribal Health Maintenance Program. The T.H.M.P Director implements the program, policies, and contract requirements. The Director has the overall responsibility for planning, administering, supervising, and coordinating tribal health needs and services.

• Plans, directs, implements, and evaluates the health maintenance department for the Cocopah Indian Tribe.

• Assess, and develop comprehensive health education, prevention, and maintenance programs to address nursing care, diabetes, obesity, and other health problems.
• Plans and coordinates non-emergency transportation services.Plans and coordinates eye voucher program.

• Manages multiple health-related grants.

As part of the Cocopah Head Start education team, and under the general supervision and direction of the Director and Lead Teacher, the Teacher Assistant is responsible for the support, planning and participation in the classroom, playground and the day-to-day Head Start activities. Summary

Compiles technical and general data, reports and maps for use by Tribal Resources Planner in developing land-use and economic development decisions, maintains daily and long-term calendars, schedules appointments and maintains a daily log of activities.

• Catalog and Maintain Departmental map files, updating maps related to road systems, housing infrastructure, land use, and zoning, proposed economic development planning.

Under the leadership of the Tribal Council and supervision of the Administration, the Tribal Planner is responsible for developing comprehensive plans and programs for use of land and physical facilities of jurisdictions. The Tribal Planner is responsible for assisting, discussing, and implementing economic development procedures for the Cocopah Tribe and preliminary screening of some applications for Tribal Projects and lease permits.

• Plans and directs the department operations, including community planning, long range planning, case review, plan review, building permits, inspections, and code enforcement.

• Design and propose Tribal government plans or policies affecting land use, zoning, public utilities, community facilities, or transportation. Coordinates approved development projects.
• Recommends projects that will balance economic growth, development, and activities to include all three Cocopah Reservations.
• Serve on various Tribal, Intergovernmental, and Community Committees as directed by the Tribal Chairperson, Council, or Administrator.
• Responsible for managing and overseeing Planning grants. Monitors operations, manages costs, and resolves technical and personnel issues; assures compliance with regulations, standards and policies, including reporting requirements for Federal agencies.
• Prepares departments’ annual operational budget. Analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls.
• Gathers relevant statistical data and draft reports on issues such as demographic information, occupancy rates, and land use.
• Interprets and evaluates legal documents and relevant legislation to assess impact on projects.
• Conduct field investigations, surveys, impact studies, or other research to compile and analyze data on economic, social, regulatory, or physical factors affecting land use.

The museum consists of a 1,400sq. Ft. exhibition room, gift shop and is surrounded by a beautiful outdoor space showcasing local plants. Summary

Entry level position. Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems of facility by performing the following duties.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Bends & cuts conduit wire, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceiling for electrical connections.
• Connects wire to motor, fixtures and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, splices wires and insulates wire with friction tape.
• Patches or replaces plaster board and paint walls, ceiling, and trim of building.
• Must be able to make periodic maintenance of facility systems.
• Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.
• Installs lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, wall boxes and terminal boards.
• Reads blueprints, shop drawings, or written instructions to determine method and sequence of assembling parts.
• Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, and other related maintenance activities.
• Responsible for ground maintenance activities.
• Diagnosis cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventive and corrective maintenance.
• The Casino is 24hrs 7 days a week operation and may be required to work any or all shifts.
• Must understand and comply with departmental internal control regulations.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as well as carry heavy supplies and equipment throughout the shift.
• Ability to make emergency service calls.
• Knowledge of construction and retrofitting projects.
• Ability to be part of a team, and participate as a team member.
• Ability and initiative to adapt to 8 different trades and learn them accordingly.
• Ability to follow all CDC guidelines in regards to COVID-19.
